Solarae are proud to be members of the following:

Worcester Bosch

Worcester manufactures heating and hot water appliances for the home. Their range comprises gas boilers, oil boilers, solar water heating, ground source heat pumps, air source heat pumps and underfloor heating.

Gas Safe Register

Gas Safe Register is the officlal register for gas safety. They are the official list of gas engineers who are registered to work safely and legally on boilers, cookers, fires and all other gas appliances.

Most building work done in your home will be subject to Building Regulations – and that includes any installation or upgrade work done of your heating system. Building Regulations vary depending on where you in the UK, but generally all work must be notified to your local authority. Because your OFTEC Registered Technician is a ‘competent person’ under the Building Regulations, he can self-certify his work and take care of the notification for you. You’ll receive a certificate confirming that the work done meets the relevant Building Regulations.

Renewable Energy Consumer Code

As a member of the scheme Solarae agrees to abide by its Consumer Code. The code covers issues such as pre-sales activity, contracts including deposits and payment schedules, completing the order and after-sales activities. In particular, sales staff must not use any high-pressure selling techniques, including:
· staying in your home for an unreasonably long time
· offering you a high initial price followed by a discount
· offering you a discount for signing on the day
· withholding price information from you until the end of the visit
· Claiming that there is limited availability of a product.

The MCS certificates microgeneration technologies used to produce electricity and heat from renewable sources. The MCS is also linked to financial incentives which include Feed in Tariffs.

HETAS is the official body for testing and approval of appliances and publishes lists of approved appliances, fuels and equipment to help consumers, installers, retailers, designers and specifiers in choosing an installation and system to suit your needs whilst complying with the relevant building regulations and safety standards.

The CIPHE has held the Register of Plumbers for over 100 years. It changed its name in 2004 to include heating and since that time has held responsibility for both the plumbing and heating industries. Under the Charter granted in 2008 it has been given the right to set up and manage registers for all aspects of the plumbing and heating engineering industry throughout the UK.
